New parliament for Cyprus

Cyprus is set to get a new parliament building by 2023 at a cost of 72 million euros, an official from the legislature said Tuesday.

Vasiliki Anastasiadiou, general manager at Cyprus parliament, said that the cost of the new building has been lowered to 72 million euros from initial budget of 100 million euros.

A tender for the design of a new parliament had been held launched by Cyprus in 1994 but the project has since been put on ice.
