Retail property prices up in 2017- first rise in eight years

The price of retail property in Greece rose 1.6 percent in 2017, the first increase since 2010, according to the Bank of Greece, the country's central bank.

Data published on Thursday showed that retail property prices rose 1.4 percent in Athens, 1 percent in Thessaloniki and 2.2 percent in Thessaloniki.

The cost of renting retail space in 2017 dipped, however, easing 0.4 percent versus a 0.9 percent drop in 2016, the bank added.
