Renovations on Rhodes Nea Agora to wind up October

Work on renovating the Nea Agora (New Market) in the main town of Rhodes is continuing with the municipality expecting the project to be completed in October.

Improvements to the market in Mandraki, built in 1925 with eastern references, are being gradually completed with workers now working on the internal peristyle, the council said in a statement posted on its website.

Earlier this week, the council issued an invitation to hire a property valuer ahead of plans to start leasing out stores in the landmark market to businesses.

The total budget for the renovation work is seen reaching up to four million euros.
