Real estate company Engel & Völkers has opened new facilities in Athens and is looking to hire 150 agents to staff its Greece operations.
Called a 'Market Center' (MC), its new 700 square meter offices are located at the Athens Tower, the capital's tallest building, and will act as a central service platform for residentrial property deals in Athens and coastal regions. The target is to recruit 150 real estate agents by the end of 2020.
“With the new MC we intend to strengthen our market position in Greece and tap into another important core market in Europe,” said Natalie Leontaraki, managing director of the Engel & Völkers Market Center in Athens.
"As well as the high level of national demand, we are registering increased interest from international clients from Germany, Switzerland and the Arab Emirates,” said Leontaraki.
The new MC by the Hamburg based brokerage signals the latest change in a fast evolving Greek real estate market drawing foreign players to the sector. The residential home market is growing on the back of Greece's strong tourism market and the country's Golden Visa program, which offers non EU investors a five year residency permit on property investments worth more than 250,000 euros.
The brokerage region of Engel & Völkers will encompass the centre of Athens, the Athens Riviera, the coastal town of Porto Heli and the Cyclades Islands including Santorini and Mykonos.
This latest opening in Athens marks the 16th Engel & Völkers Market Center worldwide. Other MCs are located in cities including Barcelona, Hamburg, Paris, New York, Dubai and Hong Kong.
