Athens ranks among the cheapest European cities to live in, according to a survey prepared by the Economist Intelligence Unit.

The 2017 survey, which compares the prices of 160 goods and services in 133 cities around the world and is primarily used by human resources managers to calculate compensation packages for overseas postings, found Singapore to be the most expensive city in the world, followed by Hong Kong.

Among the 39 European cities included in the survey, Athens was in 29th place, slipping eight positions from last year. On a European level, Zurich took top spot followed by Geneva and Paris.
