Cyprus seeks more than business from India in visit

April 25, 2017

Cyprus president Nicos Anastasiades will visit India Wednesday to seek the country's support in the island's reunification talks and boost solid business ties between the two nations.

The tiny Mediterranean island nation is India's eighth largest foreign investor, having invested some $8.5 billion in real estate, construction, manufacturing and shipping.

On a five day trip, Anastasiades will meet with Indian President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, among others.

Following in the steps of Anastasiades, Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan will also visit India in early May.
