Eurobank puts landmark Athens hotel up for sale
Greece's Eurobank is testing the waters in calling for bids from investors to buy a landmark hotel it owns in the center of Athens, the King George Hotel.
In an announcement published Tuesday, the bank has called for non binding offers from investors who have until June 12 to get hold of initial details.
Located on Syntagma square, opposite parliament, the hotel covers 9,450 square meters and has 102 rooms. It is currently leased to Lampsa SA, which owns the neighboring Grande Bretagne hotel.
Lampsa has the right of last refusal on the King George Hotel, which means that once the tender process is completed, then it has the right to match the best offer made and purchase the hotel.
