Real estate investment company Grivalia said Thursday that one of its properties in central Athens has received the BREEAM certificate for excellent performance, the first asset in Greece that has been awarded this certification.
"In order to achieve this certification, the project team has opted for various interventions and improvements to reduce energy consumption and water use, as well as to create a healthy indoor environment by improving the indoor air quality," the company said in a statement.
The property is located at 68 Vasilissis Sofias avenue.

Among the features added to this building is a green roof, the collection of rainwater for irrigation of the green roof and the installation of new ventilation channels to improve indoor air quality, the company added.
BREEAM is one of the leading global sustainability assessment methods for master planning projects, infrastructure and buildings.
