Drops in Greek housing investments ease

Greek investments in housing fell in January to September but at a slower pace than the previous two years, according to latest data from the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT).

Figures show that housing investments in the nine month period dropped by 7.8%, versus a 12.6% drop in 2016 and a 25.8% retreat in the same period of 2015.

The data was released last week as part of third quarter gross domestic product figures published by ELSTAT.

The trend in housing is in line with a pick up in broader investments recorded over the three year period.

Statistics data shows that investments in the first nine months of the year grew 13% versus 7.4% last year and -9% in 2015.
