Greece hands over space on 90 beaches in tenders
Greece is more than a third into the process of tendering off space on public beaches to private businesses, according to the Finance Ministry.
It is the first time that the government is handing over the use of beaches via an online process in a move it says will help boost transparency and reduce the chaotic use of beach areas by cafes and restaurants.

The process started mid April and has been completed on more than 90 beaches, so far. Those interested in participating in the process can do so at http://www.minfin.gr/web/g.g.-demosias-periousias/aigialos.
Another 130 beaches will be tendered off soon, the ministry added.
