Fraport has eye on 23 more (regional) airports in Greece
Fraport Greece is looking into taking over the management of 23 small regional airports in the country, said its chief executive Alexander Zinell on Wednesday.
Speaking at an economic conference, Zinell said the company plans to look into this with the Greek government in a bid to increase passenger traffic numbers at the airports.
Fraport Greece, owned by German airport operator Fraport AG and Greece's Copelouzos group, took control of 14 of Greece's largest airport early last year in a privatisation that earnned Greece 1.2 billion euros.
Fraport Greece has since been upgrading the airports, helping boost passenger in 2017 to a record high of 27.6 million.
