‘Parea’ inspires China’s Fosun group; 4 new island hotels planned
Fosun Tourism Group, part of China’s Fosun group, has announced that it is planning to open four new hotels in Greece under the brands of Casa Cook and Cook’s Club.
According to the tourism group’s vice president, Alessandro Dassi, Fosun is now expanding its hotel portfolio in Greece, with new projects in Samos, Mykonos, Rhodes and Corfu.
“Four very different destinations but equally attractive and interesting and all coming for summer 2022,” said Dassi, adding that Athens is also on the company’s radar. “Athens is a very important destination as it has a very good combination of business and leisure,” he added.
As of May 1, hotels under the Casa Cook brand will open on Samos (128 rooms) and Mykonos (26 rooms). The group will also open a Cook’s Club hotel on Rhodes (83 rooms) on May 1 and another Cook’s Club hotel on Corfu (195 rooms) on June 1.
“We are looking at projects now on new islands, just beyond the typical tourism hotspots. There are so many islands in Greece that people want to discover. I think the launch of a trendy new hotel can also give an opportunity for the destination to really put itself on the tourism global map,” Dassi said.
The group plans to double its portfolio in Greece by the end of 2023 and already has projects in the pipeline for Thassos, Zakynthos, Halkidiki, Kos, Crete and Athens.
Explaining the concepts behind the hotels, creative director Remo Masala, said that the group’s hotels are places where guests can connect with each other and share experiences.
“All our hotels are deeply inspired by the Greek word ‘parea’ (company), which is the core value of the brand… The principle of the word ‘parea’ guides us and before we do anything in our hotels we first check if it is ‘parea-friendly’… We have connected all parts of the customer’s journey into that word,” Masala said.
